Hendrickson Method Institute (formerly Institute of Orthopedic Massage)
is dedicated to providing the highest quality advanced training in a unique
system of orthopedic massage and manual therapy called Hendrickson Method.
Through professional certification courses and continuing education classes,
Hendrickson Method Institute assists massage therapists, bodyworkers,
and health care providers in achieving the highest level of skills and
confidence necessary to treat acute and chronic pain and restore function
in their clients and patients. Institute classes focus not only on manual
skills, but on the development of the student’s inner awareness
of body, mind, and spirit to allow for greater healing energy to flow
through their work.
A one-of-a-kind, advanced system of orthopedic therapy, Hendrickson Method
brings together a dynamic combination of techniques: massage, mobilization,
and neuromuscular re-education, synthesized with Eastern energy practices.

At the heart of Hendrickson Method is a new massage stroke called wave
mobilization® which was developed by Dr. Tom Hendrickson during thirty
years of clinical practice.
Based on the internal energy healing of Tai Chi, these strokes are performed
in gentle, rhythmic oscillations that mimic ocean waves. These unique
strokes penetrate deep within the body, reducing or eliminating pain,
dissolving adhesions, lengthening connective tissue, eliminating trigger
points, improving range of motion in the joints, rehabilitating cartilage

Professional Certification
Courses in Hendrickson Method
Courses at Hendrickson Method Institute are carefully organized to efficiently
utilize each hour of class time. When you complete your coursework, you
emerge as a confident, competent, and clinically effective professional.
There are three core courses that provide advanced levels of training
in Hendrickson Method. You can choose to take one course and stop or take
all three courses. After each course, you are professionally certified
at a level reflecting your degree of training. When you successfully complete
all three courses, you will receive a 500-hour certificate.
