Notice to Students:
Hendrickson Method Institute has entered into an agreement with the California Department of Consumer Affairs for the purpose of ensuring continued student protection after the (California) Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education Reform Act became inoperative as of June 30, 2007. The purpose of this agreement is to provide HMI with a legal method by which to comply with applicable federal statutes, rules, and regulations from July 1, 2007 to January 31, 2008, inclusive, and demonstrate to the United States Department of Education the legal authorization to operate schools under California law during the same time period. |
Hendrickson Method® Training: Essentials & Advanced 2008/2009 in Berkeley (200 hrs each)

Hendrickson Method® Essentials and Advanced classes in Berkeley consist of 3-day classes (Saturday 9:30 am–6 pm, Sunday 10 am–6 pm, & Monday 10 am–6 pm), approximately once per month, for 9 months. All classes listed above are part of a SERIES beginning in September and cannot be taken individually. Classes for Essentials and Advanced are taught concurrently, and successful completion of Essentials is a prerequisite for enrollment in Advanced. Classes will be held at the Rosen Institute in Berkeley, California. Due to the individualized nature of instruction, we provide one teacher for every ten students. Below you will find a partial list of policies pertaining to Professional Certification courses. All of our policies are outlined in our Catalog. You may request that one be sent via postal mail to you by calling 510.524.3107
or by emailing your request with address information to school@hendricksonmethod.com.
Admissions Policy:
Applicants must be 18 years or older and have completed high school or equivalency. Students must also have met specific prerequisites for each class in which they enroll. Prospective students are invited to call our administrative offices and meet with school representatives to discuss their goals and requirements of Hendrickson Method® classes. We reserve the right to refuse enrollment to anyone.
How to Apply:
Students wishing to enroll in class may complete and return an application
(PDF) along with payment in full, or a $500 deposit. Upon receipt
of your application and payment, we will provide you with an Enrollment
Agreement to complete and sign, and a detailed course catalog which fully
identifies all policies and requirements. Your enrollment is not complete
until we receive the completed and signed Agreement. You may also request
the catalog for review prior to applying. The information on this page is not an exhaustive list of our policies, which can be found in our catalog.

Completion Requirements:
1. 90% attendance (make–ups permitted).
2. Completion of required reading.
3. If the class has a hands–on final, a passing mark.
4. Completion of all homework assignments.
5. Completion of the financial agreement.
6. Supply clients for clinical courses, if required.
7. Completion of any required practice massages.
8. Supply a massage table and pillows for class, if required.
9. Minimum cumulative score of 75% on any quizzes given.
10. Completion of course evaluation.
Progress and Grading System
All courses at Hendrickson Method Institute are pass/fail. Students must
successfully meet all completion requirements to become certified.
Attendance Requirements & Tardiness
Students must attend at least 80% of the originally scheduled classes,
are strongly encouraged to make up all missed classes,
and must make up at least enough missed classes to meet
attendance requirements of 90%. Students who are more than 30 minutes
late to class are considered tardy. Three tardy marks will be considered
one absence. Students missing more than 20% of class time will not receive
credit for the class.
Making Up Classes
Students must make up all missed classes within 3 months of the class
end date. Make up classes must be for the specific class topic originally
missed according to the rules below:
1. Students may make up missed classes by scheduling a private tutorial
with one of the designated instructors. Students must
provide a client on which to work if doing a tutorial for a clinical class.
2. A one–hour individual tutorial is equivalent to three hours of class
time.
3. Tutorials are considered extra–curricular and are not included in the
tuition.

Payment Information:
Students may pay full tuition in advance of the first day of class or participate in our payment plan, which allows them to make payments for tuition and fees during the course of the class sessions. A finance fee will be charged to students who make use of this option.

Payment Notes:
- Auditing students may attend class as they wish, are admitted on a
space available basis, do not participate in completion
requirements, must obey all other policies, and are ineligible for certification or refunds.
- Tuition includes a $100 non–refundable registration fee.
Students wishing to utilize our payment plan pay the additional finance fee noted.

The Hendrickson Method® graduate’s professional status is protected and supported through the Hendrickson Method Association. HMA provides students with public exposure via a locator service, protects the trademark, offers an Alumni section on the Institute’s web site, publishes an informative newsletter, provides discounts on C.E. classes, and is required membership for anyone wishing to use the Hendrickson Method® trademark as part of their professional title or designation. There are two types of Hendrickson Method® C.E. classes: a) those held by sponsoring organizations or professionals, and b) those held through Hendrickson Method Institute. For the first type of class, prices, payment terms, and related policies are set by each outside sponsor and you must contact them for specific information.
Policies for C.E. classes held through Hendrickson Method Institute
General:
All classes must be paid for in full prior to the class start-date.
We do not accept deposits. Payment in full reserves your seat in class.
$30 of each class fee is a non–refundable registration fee.
All students are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner.
To be certified, each C.E. student must meet attendance and other course requirements, and complete and return an evaluation at the end of class.
Members of Hendrickson Method Association receive a 20% discount on C.E. class prices.
Cancellation Policy:
If you cancel your registration 7 days or more before the class start–date, you will get your entire fee returned to you minus the $30 registration fee.
If you cancel your registration within 7 days of the class start–date, we’ll refund 50% of your fee, minus the $30 registration fee.
There are no refunds on or after the first day of class.
Missed classes:
You may miss up to 20% of a multiple–day C.E. class and be allowed to make it up through a private tutorial with the instructor for an additional fee. If you miss more than 20% of the class, you will not get credit.
You may not miss any portion of a single day class.
Tardiness or leaving early by more than 15 minutes will equal an absence.
Registration:
You may register for C.E. classes by phone or by postal mail. Please supply the following information for registration: Your name, mailing address, phone number, title and date of class you are registering for, a Mastercard
or Visa credit card number with expiration date, or a check made payable to Hendrickson Method Institute. Please let us know if you are a Hendrickson Method Association member.
Your enrollment is not complete until you have received confirmation from the Hendrickson Institute.
